Lincoln Continental Mark III RestoMod

Site dedicated to 1968-71 Lincoln Continental Mark III's, Ford Thunderbirds and forgotten big cars.

This site details the workingman’s restomod of an imperfect 1969 Lincoln Continental Mark III.  It is an honest account of my experiences, with an abundance of trial-and-error, some proud successes, guaranteed learning, and hopefully a bit of humor.  This account focuses specifically on the 1968-1971 Lincoln Mark III, which shares bones and mechanics with the same years of Ford Thunderbird.  Many of the lessons can be applied to any 60’s-70’s American car, especially big Ford Cars–which are mostly forgotten by the aftermarket, and grossly underrepresented online.  I’m starting this site because after 20 years of experience with Mark III’s, I’ve spent too much time digging for simple answers, and would like to spare the next enthusiast some of that effort.

An old gear-head once told me, “the more you learn, the less you know,” which could easily be coupled with, “you don’t know what you don’t know.”  Truer statements have never been applicable to the automotive world.  I’m hoping to shed some light on the unknown, but also appreciate and welcome the opportunity to learn more.
